Our food bank and clothes closet hours are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
The procedure for obtaining assistance is done by drive thru at the present time. We will resume face to face interviews as soon as it is safe. We do not make appointments, we serve first come, first served.
At the present time, please enter off Old St. Augustine Rd. and follow driveway to the food bank. Stay in the right lane, food bank volunteer will help you.
The Mandarin Food Bank serves the broadly-defined Mandarin area, which includes zip codes 32217, 32223, 32256, 32257, 32258, and 32259. If you live outside our area of service, you can call us to get the name and number of a food pantry in your area, or call 211 (United Way) to receive that information.
We require the following: a photo ID, a piece of mail with current address and you name and some form of ID for everyone in you household.
The food we provide has been donated in good faith by caring individuals, grocery stores, restaurants and other businesses, churches, schools, and civic groups.
As available, the usual allotment of food given on a regulars basis is: 3 bags of non perishable food-1 bag of personal hygiene products ( as available), 2 sources of frozen protein ( hot dogs, hamburger, chicken are the usual choices, 2 extra’s frozen products ( usually soups, stews, sauces donated from local restaurants), 1 bag of bread products, 1 bag of produce, ( We receive bread and produce from area grocery stores on a daily basis and give it out as available) and 1 source of fresh milk. Unfortunately, we are dependent on donations. If we haven't received donations, food will not be available.
Families must wait 1 month between visits.
We do not provide financial aid; we do give clients referrals to agencies that do assist with monetary needs as well as names and numbers for other agencies that help with specific challenges.
We have a small clothes closet that is available to all clients. We do give vouchers to clients as needed, and we charge a nominal fee for clients without vouchers. We are not open to the public because we want to address the needs of our clients.
